When lightening strikes?

Pretty much nothing happens at least not where I live. I grew up in Georgia, and a lightening storm was no joke and by golly you better stay away from the television, don't take a shower, and cover your ears because it's gonna get dang loud.

We had a thunderstorm "watch" a few days ago and the kids were all hyped up about it. I was even a little excited and I hated thunderstorms as a kid. Unfortunately it turned out to be the biggest wimp of a storm you could ever imagine. A few lightening strikes and quiet rumblings of thunder in the distant and that's it. I guess that's what you get when you live in the northwest.
