Don’t be a pig...

One thing we did over spring break (daily I might add) Is play pig. It was so.much.fun. I’m not a great basketball player but I had a strategy to get them on short shots (close to the rim.) if I could keep control of the ball then I could get them out. I started making bets that if I won they each had to clean a bathroom. Well guess what....my bathrooms are sparkling now....

A blustery day...

Remember Winnie the Pooh and the hundred acre wood? Gosh...I love that movie. This morning when I woke up it was barely 45 degrees but it was the wind that made it so cold. That didn’t stop me though. I dragged the kids out the door in coats, and warm hats and we went on a two mile hike. It was glorious and it didn’t take long to warm up as we walked briskly. It was the perfect beginning to a wonderful spring break day...

A little getaway goes a long way...

We didn’t make any plans for spring break but last minute we decided one night out of town was just what the doctor ordered. Yummy food, swimming pool and hot tub was enough to cure our stay at home blues. Oh...and cracked barrel, of course...

Elephant man...

In the world of Denture making we use wax. Lots and lots of wax. It’s what mimics gingiva when we try a Denture in a patient’s mouth.

Connor has been working in our lab portion of the clinic for a few weeks now...we don’t need an extra employee but my dad once told me that his father (a business owner) employed him as a kid and that having the opportunity to make a little money was a blessing. I agree fully with that, and so does Connor, I think.

When he has a few minutes in between stuff, he creates. And boy oh boy, he’s good. This elephant was his latest creation. It’s tiny and I and the girls love tiny things.

I’m so proud of his talent. He’s truly creative and artistic. It’s a wonderful thing to see your kids and the big and little things they can do...

21...

We are finally old enough to drink. Just kidding...although if we did drink I’d say we have earned it. We’ve been married 21 years today. The most blissful 21 years of my life.

Chris made me a beautiful candlelit dinner with steak, baked potatoes, salad, cooked carrots, and Brussels sprouts. And then of course, Pepsi in wine glasses. If we can’t have wine then we at least deserve some caffeine.

We ate all alone and then felt guilt that our two oldest boys could smell it all the way upstairs and were completely jealous. We invited them down afterward and even though our alone time was interrupted that was ok because this is our lives....we created the chaos and it’s what has made this ride together so very beautiful.

I’m glad you were born...

This man was born 48 years ago. His candles say 46 but that’s only because I sent Austin to the store and he lost track of his dad’s age. His guess was only off by two years...not bad! Happy birthday to this wonderful human being.

Ready for spring...

When Halee visited us and we watched so many home videos from years past we decided to go back and hike one of our favorite areas. It’s a place we took the kids to regularly when they were young (due to ease and safety)  but haven’t in several years. It was heartwarming to be back...

They watch...

Our kids see everything we do. It’s kind of scary actually but it’s absolutely true. Today when I went up to the attic to use the treadmill a had a little sidekick that wanted to join me. Scarlett spent 30 minutes doing her own exercise routine and didn’t complain once. I’m very impressed.

A happy cry...

Halee came home for 5 days while Jared was on a business trip. I love Jared for making that possible. He’s more than willing to make ways for Halee to see us and that touches my heart.

Halee spent probably 8 hours watching home videos from the time she came into the world to the time she was surrounded by several siblings. We all watched together and I Shed a few tears. It’s amazing to me how many years have gone by since she was little and even more so at how quickly. It was also shocking to see how old I’ve gotten (I shed a few tears over that too) but that’s beside the point.

Enjoy every last second because time will be taken from you. Thankfully, and I mean that very literally, the memories will be constant.

Learning and growing all in one...

Project night at the kids’ school was a success. I’m so proud of how grown up they’re all becoming and how eager to learn they each are. I’m truly a blessed mom.
