Best friends come in all shapes and sizes...

Life wouldn’t be quite as sweet without these lovely ladies. Despite being two years apart they stick together like glue. ❤️

It’s back...

You can run but you can’t hide I guess. School has started for my youngest three. Connor and Austin have a few days of freedom left. 

I will miss these three. Summer is our favorite. Letting it go isn’t an easy thing to do...

My boys...

These boys aren’t boys anymore. They are young men. Christian too. I’m so proud to call them mine.

Spa night...

Freddy Krueger (or is it Jason) plus spa music and 3 females equals the perfect spa night ever. The masks by the way may look crazy but felt amazing and were packed full of wonderful ingredients. The girls have been looking forward to this for a few weeks. This will definitely become a regular.

Games bring me happiness...

It’s true...I play board games with the kids for probably two hours a day. I love having to think my way around letters and numbers and as the kids have grown older it makes for real competition. Even Scarlett is hard to beat at this particular number game. I’m going to miss this when school starts...

How not to kill each other 101...

I won’t lie. This week was not our best when it comes to happy family feelings for each other. It was 105 degrees outside for several days in a row. That equals 85 degrees in a house with no AC. What is it about heat that brings out the monster in us all? Well, I got tired of all the crabbiness and shortness everyone was having (including myself) so at 11pm last night just before bed I told everyone to “get into the car because we are going to jump in the river.” You can’t even imagine the joy on the kids’ faces at this prospect. Even Chris was on board. So at approximately 11:15 pm we all (including the dogs) ended up splashing in the cold dark river for about 15 min. It was pure heaven. 

We came home and everyone loved each other again.

Getting away...

What is it about getting away that is so wonderful. Even if it’s a day or two. People need down time. Families especially. I’m grateful for the time we shared at the ocean.
