Wow...that was totally wicked...

So, if you read my blog then you might recall that we accidentally missed the phantom of the opera back in May because I somehow lost my mind and forgot what day it was (still trying to block that bad memory out.) we got a little vindication though and took Halee to the musical "Wicked" and let me tell you it did not disappoint. A story that ultimately represents believing in yourself and most importantly good triumphing over evil. Metaphorically speaking, it's a story we can all relate to in regards to being true to oneself and not allowing others to dictate who or what you can become. It was beautiful, fun, compelling and fabulous. A lot of good wrapped up into one. Plus, I got to enjoy it with my true love and my beautiful daughter.

Lovely lady...

This is what happens when your kids go on a treasure hunt in the toy box for doll
clothes....poor Belle. She's such a paratrooper.

One on one...or should I say three on one.

It's not everyday that I only have three kids at home. We had so much fun together...hiking...playing the game of life (which was an everyday occurrence by the way) eating out. The kids ate up all the mama time...and so did I.

You're so dang sweet...

I love this little sugar bear...you make a mama's heart smile.

Rook...

Chris has been trying to talk
Me into being a rook lover forever. I've never been huge on this card game...however the kids have become obsessed and it's now our new favorite passtime. We even wager a bit...whoever loses has to do extra chores. Win/win for me.

Own it....

Do you know how tempting it was to edit this photo? To whiten my teeth...hide my bags/crows feet under my eyes...soften my skin...but you know what? It's time to own it...that's what. I've come to a very important conclusion in my life...whether we like it or not, we cannot escape getting older. So, why not make lemonade out of lemons and be okay with getting a few wrinkles? I'm kind of getting tired of these "make you look flawless" apps because it's not reality. When my kids look at my pictures I want them to know that I really did have wrinkles, and I really most definitely had crows feet. Because chances are, they'll inherit them and they're gonna need someone to blame. :)

Quality time...

I've tried really hard this summer to make it a point to spend quality time with my children. Every evening I have to work or study for a few hours and so the daytime is my opportunity to create memories and be with my babies. I love summertime and do not want it to end. Chris has been so supportive when I have to be busy at night. He helps with the kids so much and never complains about me being gone. I'm so grateful.
